Ferrari F2007

The Ferrari F2007 was born in 2007 under regulations marked by the freeze on engine development and the final year of electronic driver aids before the arrival of the standard ECU in 2008. Ferrari evolved the 248 F1 with a longer carbon-fiber chassis, push-rod suspension with torsion bars, a seven-speed semi-automatic gearbox, and the Tipo 056 engine, a 2.4-liter V8 limited to 19,000 rpm. Aerodynamically refined and adapted to the mandatory Bridgestone tires, the F2007 stood out for its compact sidepods, sculpted bodywork, and complex details around the cockpit and front end. The piece offered here is an exact replica of the nose cone from Kimi Räikkönen’s Ferrari F2007, the car with which he won the 2007 Formula 1 World Championship at the Brazilian Grand Prix in Interlagos. With Räikkönen and Felipe Massa, the F2007 contested 17 Grand Prix, achieving 9 victories, 9 pole positions, and 22 podiums, while Ferrari also claimed the Constructors’ Championship. Its legacy is tied to one of Maranello’s most dramatic triumphs and to Ferrari’s most recent Drivers’ World Championship.

Ferrari F2004 Schumacher Edition

Hand-airbrushed by Rafael García Cano, Fernando Alonso’s official helmet painter between 1999 and 2009, this piece replicates the Ferrari F2004, the car that embodied perfection in the V10 era. Designed for the 2004 season, when electronic driver aids were banned and stricter reliability requirements were introduced, it was a radical evolution of the F2003-GA. It featured an ultra-compact rear end, redesigned suspension to reduce tyre wear, more integrated exhausts, and an extremely low centre of gravity. Its Ferrari 053 engine, a 3.0-litre V10, had to last the entire race weekend without compromising performance. The package, optimised for Bridgestone tyres, was dominant: 15 wins from 18 races, 12 pole positions, and almost total supremacy. Schumacher won 13 of those races, and Ferrari comfortably secured both titles. The chassis was reused at the start of 2005 as the F2004M. Considered one of the fastest cars of all time, its lap records remained unbeaten for years.

McLaren MP4/4

The McLaren MP4/4, from 1988, symbolizes the perfection of the turbo era. Designed in the context of the final restrictions on turbo (2.5 bar and 150 liters of fuel) that anticipated its ban the following year. With a "low-line" chassis, very low profile and reclined driving position, designed by Steve Nichols and Gordon Murray, the car was a masterpiece of aerodynamics and efficiency. Powered by the Honda RA168E V6 1.5 liter engine, it achieved absolute dominance: 15 victories in 16 races, 15 poles and 97% of the laps led. Only Monza escaped, when Senna crashed into a turn. McLaren swept both championships, with Senna champion and Prost runner-up. Its legacy is to be perhaps the most dominant car in a single season in the entire history of Formula 1.

Aston Martin AMR23

The Aston Martin AMR23, debuted in 2023, marked a huge leap for the team. It was the second car under the effect floor regulation introduced in 2022, already with modifications to reduce porpoising and a higher floor. Aston Martin opted for an aggressive design of sidepods type "downwash", a clean rear wing and a more worked front wing. Equipped with Mercedes-AMG M12 1.6 V6 hybrid engine, Mercedes gearbox and a minimum weight of 798 kg, the AMR23 showed outstanding performance at the start of the season, placing itself as the second force in several races. Alonso achieved eight podiums and the team finished fifth with 280 points, remaining 22nd from the fourth place. Although it lost some rhythm with the evolutions, the car consolidated the reputation of the team and its technical director Dan Fallows as an ascending force in the modern era.

McLaren MP4/20

Hand-airbrushed by Rafael García Cano, Fernando Alonso’s official helmet painter between 1999 and 2009, this piece replicates the 2005 McLaren MP4-20, a car renowned for its speed and fragility. In a year of tougher regulations—engines had to last two race weekends and tyre changes during races were banned—McLaren introduced a new chassis with a flat nose, short wheelbase, and the distinctive “horn wings” behind the air intake. Its Mercedes-Ilmor FO110R V10 engine, combined with Michelin tyres, made it the fastest car of the year. Designed by Adrian Newey, Mike Coughlan, and Peter Prodromou, the MP4-20 won 10 races — 7 with Räikkönen and 3 with Montoya — and took 7 pole positions, but reliability let it down. Renault prevailed through consistency, leaving McLaren second. Even so, the MP4-20 is remembered as the fastest single-seater of 2005 and a masterpiece of modern aerodynamics.

Williams FW26

The Williams FW26, from 2004, was one of the most daring designs of the new century. In a season without electronic aids and with new aerodynamic limitations, Williams surprised with the "walrus" or "tusk nose", supported by two pillars that left free the flow under the chassis. The twin-keel suspension complemented the idea, but the correlation between the tunnel and the track proved problematic. With BMW P84 V10 engine, the car showed potential but was inconsistent. Mid-season, a more conventional nose was adopted, improving handling. The FW26 only achieved one victory (Montoya in Brazil), one pole and some podiums, finishing fourth in the championship. It is remembered as an example of bold innovation that did not achieve the expected result, but left key lessons on aerodynamic balance and development correlation.
